Day 1- Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi and meet the SITA representative at the arrival
hall and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon proceed on
a tour New Delhi visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the one-time
imperial residence of the British viceroys; the India Gate,
a memorial raised in honour of the Indian soldiers martyred
during the Afghan war; the Laxminarayan Temple, built by
the Birlas, one of India’s leading industrial families;
Qutab Minar, built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty;
and the lotus-shaped Baha’i Temple.
Day 2- To Shimla
Morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi visit the majestic
Red Fort, the historical Chandni Chowk, besides Raj Ghat
and Shanti Vana.. In time transfer to railway station in
the evening to board train to Kalka. Overnight on board.
Day 3- Arrive Shimla
Arrive early morning in Kalka and connect a toy-train to
Shimla. Experience one of the most exotic journeys passing
through 103 tunnels, pine forests and hills. Arrive Shimla
and transfer to hotel.
Day 4- In Shimla
Morning sightseeing tour of Shimla including The Mall -
Shimla’s principal promenade and best for a leisurely walk.
Jakhoo Hill is the highest point in Shimla and offers a
panoramic view of the city. Glen forest is one of the most
fascinating picnic spots in Shimla. Summer Hill has pleasant
shady walks in quite surroundings. Chadwick Falls are situated
amidst thick forest and gives a breathtaking view. Prospect
Hill is a popular picnic spot that gives some beautiful
views of the mountains.
Day 5- To Nalagarh
Morning drive to Nalagarh. Arrive Nalagarh and check –
in at hotel. Nalagarh was built in 1421 during the reign
of Raja Bikram Chand. It was ruled by the Chandela Rajputs
who originated from Chanderi in the Bundelkhand region of
Central India. The Fort is located on a hillock at the foothills
of the mighty Himalayas, surrounded by endless acres of
greenery.
Day 6- To Paragpur
Morning dive to Pragpur. Arrive Pragpur and check – in
at hotel. Later visit the surroundings. Pragpur, known as
‘country of pollen’ is unbelievably picturesque having held
onto the essence of an earlier era with unchanged shops,
cobbled streets, an ornamental village tank, mud plastered
and slate roofed houses.
Day 7- To Taragarh
Morning drive to Taragarh. Arrive Taragarh and check –
in at hotel. In the afternoon visit temples of Nanbadeshwar,
Gauri Shankar and Murli Manohar. Flat roofed, these temples
are ‘Thakurdwaras’ dedicated to the Lord Vishnu incarnation-
Lord Shiva and Lord Kirishna. Also visit the tea gardens
and factory. The tea factory of the co-operative society
offers an insight into the processing of Kangra tea.
Day 8- To Dharamshala
Morning drive to Dharamshala. Arrive Dharamshala and check
– in at hotel. Set against the backdrop of the dramatic
Dhauladhar mountains, Dharamsala is perched on the high
slopes in the upper reaches of Kangra Valley. It is a charming
town with elegant bungalows nestling in thick conifer forests
Day 9-In Dharamshala
Morning sightseeing tour of Dharamshala including various
monasteries and Mcleodganj often called Little Lhasa and
the residence of the Dalai Lama, which has been here for
over three decades. The monastery has larger-than-life images
of the Buddha, Padmasambhava and Avalokteshwara. Also visit
ST. JOHN’S, the charming dressed stone church in the wilderness.
Day 10- To Amritsar
Morning drive to Amritsar. Arrive Amritsar and check – in
at hotel. The city is famous for its Golden Temple.
Day 11- To Delhi
Morning city tour of Amritsar visiting the famous Golden
Temple, a glittering gold and marble temple which is one
of the holiest Sikh shrines. Durgiana Mandir is a temple
with a golden dome and silver doors; Jalianwala Bagh has
a memorial built in memory of unarmed victims massacred
b the British. Intime transfer to Railway Station to board
train for Delhi. Met on arrival at Delhi Railway Station and transfer to Hotel for ovenright stay.
Day 12- Leave Delhi
You will be assisted by a SITA representative to board flight
for onward destination. End of our services……………
