Day 07 – In Gokarna
Morning half day city tour of Gokarna – It is a famous pilgrimage centre as well as a centre of Sanskrit learning, It is famous for the Mahabaleswar Temple with the 'Atmalinga' (a revered Shiva lingam) dedicated to Lord Shiva. There is a enormous chariot, which is taken out in a procession on Shiva's birthday in February. The Tambraparni Teertha (River) here is considered sacred to perform obsequies of the dead. Gokarna is also famous for its beautiful deserted beaches like Kutle, Om, Half moon, Paradise etc.. which rival Goan Beaches.

Day 08 – To Mangalore – 180 Kms – 4 Hours drive
Morning drive to Mangalore. On arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon sightseeing of Mangalore city visiting Gokarnatheshwara Temple and St Aloysius College Chapel, continuing to Achal Cashew Plantation for a tour and tasting.

Day 09 – To Belur –Halebid- Hassan - 275 Kms - 8 Hrs Drive
Morning drive to Hassan en route visiting Belur, known for its exquisite temples and Chennakeshava Temple is a fine example. Also visit to Halebid, where Hoysaleswara Temple has a wealth of sculptural detail, the walls covered with gods, goddesses, animals and dancing girls. On arrival in Hassan check in at hotel.

Day 10 – To Sravanabelagola – Mysore - 150 Kms - 5 Hrs drive
Morning drive to Mysore en route visiting Sravanbelagola enroute, which is one of most important Jain Pilgrim centers. The Monk of the White Pond or Shravanbelagola is the oldest and the most important pilgrimage centre for the Jains in the country. The town is famous for being the home to the world/’s tallest monolithic, the Gommateshwara statute. The 17-metre-high statue representing the saintly prince Bahubali was erected some time between AD 980 and 983. To reach the site of the statue, which stands on the hill, you need to climb a flight of about 700 steps carved in the steep granite slope. The path starts near the village and as you go up you can have an excellent view of the surrounding areas. Several small shrines dot the path up to the statue. The carved statue is nude and captures the tranquillity typical to the Buddhist and Jain art. On arrival in Mysore check in at hotel.

Day 11 – In Mysore
Morning proceed for the tour of Mysore including Maharaja’s Palace built as recently as 1897, which is one of the biggest in India; St Philomena’s Church etc; Sri Jauyachamarajendra Art Gallery housed in the Jagmohan Palace, which has a collection of exquisite paintings, Folklore museum, Brindavan Gardens at sunsetetc. Later proceed for an excursion to Somnathpur. Thirty-five kilometres east of Mysore lies Somnathpur, a town famous for the temple built by the Hoysala kings. The beautiful building of the Keshava temple built in 1268 is the major attraction here. The walls of this star-shaped temple are covered with sculptures in stone depicting various scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita and the life and times of the Hoysala Kings.

Day 12 – To Ooty – Coonoor - 175 Kms - 07 Hrs drive
Morning drive to Coonoor en route visiting Ooty. The history of Ooty goes back to about 900 years when it was ruled by Vishnu Vardhana, the Hoysala king from AD 1104 to 1141. The city also finds mention in the writing of Jacome Ferico, the first European to visit this place in 1603. In 1799, this hilly region came under the control of the British East India Company. The British established Ooty to serve as the summer headquarters of the Madras government. A government house was built and keeping in tune with the English lifestyle, the British set up cottages and clubs, with facilities for tennis, golf, and horse riding. With the establishment of numerous tea estates in the subsequent years, Ooty made its presence felt in the tourist map of India. On arrival Coonoor check in at hotel.

Day 13 – In Coonoor
Morning, proceed sightseeing tour of Coonoor – It is the first of the three Nilgiri hill stations. Coonoor has an equable climate that makes this small town a popular hill resort. The main attraction here is the Sim’s Park, a well-maintained botanical garden.

Morning, proceed for sightseeing tour of Cochin including Fort Cochin, The Dutch Palace at Mattancherry is renowned for its wall murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana. The Jewish Synagogue at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town. The St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India. The Santa Cruz Basilica, originally built in 1557 by the Portuguese. The Chinese fishing nets are huge cantilevered fishing nets believed to have brought to Kochi by Chinese traders.

Day 17 – To Kumarakom - 90 Kms - 2.5 Hrs drive

Day 18 – To Alleppey  (By Overnight House Boat)
Morning proceed to Jetty to board your floating houseboat to Alleppey, a different boat with a bedroom and en-suite rest room for your comfort. Enjoy unlimited surfing on backwaters, sip a coconut, get disturbed by only the chirping of birds and occasional ripples in water and savor mouth watering delicacies prepared in front of you by your Kitchen crew. Spend the night on board the houseboat. Enjoy a cruise on the backwater through a maze of canals and lagoons and enjoy freshly caught fresh water fish cooked to your taste on board.

Day 21 – To  Kovalam  - 67 Kms - 2 Hrs drive
Morning drive to Kovalam en route visiting Trivandrum visiting the ancient temple of Sri Padmanabhaswamy is one of the major attractions in the city of Thiruvananthapuram. Napier Museum shows a harmonious blending of Kerala, Mughal, Chinese and Italian architectural styles. Sri Chitra Art Gallery has a good collection Tanjore, Mughal, and Rajput schools of art. The Zoo in Thiruvananthapuram has many shady and delightful walks. On arrival in Kovalam check in at hotel.

Day 23 – To Kanyakumari –  80 Kms - 2.5 Hrs drive
Morning drive to Kanyakumarai. ON arrival check in at hotel. After wash and change proceed to visit Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Kanyaumari is the only place in India where one can watch the sunset and moon rise simultaneously on a full moon evening.

Day 24 – To Madurai - 230 Kms -5hrs drive
Morning drive to Madurai. On arrival check in at hotel. After wash and change proceed for sightseeing tour of Madurai visiting SRI MEENAKSHI TEMPLE is synonymous with the Sri Meenakshi, the consort of Lord Shiva. The five gopurams that surround the temple are known for stuccowork, and the 48.8 metre high southern gopurams is the tallest.  Legend has it that when the last Tamil Sangam (Academy) met here, literary works were thrown into the temple tank.  Those that floated were deemed to be outstanding literature.  The HALL OF THOUSAND PILLARS is a museum of icons, photographs and illustrations. THIRUMALAI NAYAKAR MAHAL, 1 km from the temple is known for the musical pillars and the pathway.  GANDHI MUSEUM is dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi’s life and work and is housed in the 300-year-old Mangammal Palace.  It has a collection of Gandhi’s personal memorabilia, books and letters, a fine exhibition of South Indian village industries, handicrafts and a huge open-air theatre.

Day 26 – To Tanjore – 80 Kms – 2.5 Hrs drive
Morning drive to Tanjore en route visiting Trichy – It has a number of sites within the close proximity of the city that you can visit. Most of the sites here hold great historical importance. Rock Fort Temple, an enchanting temple unique in its own way makes a must visit site of Trichi. Moreover, the Tiruvanaikkaval temple, which is famous for its Siva lingam and the seven gopurams are the other pilgrimage sites to visit in Trichi. On arrival at Tanjore check in at hotel.

Day 27 – In Tanjore
Morning, proceed for the tour of Tanjore – It has a number of important places that attract the attention of many tourists all through the year. You can see the influence of history, religion and nature in all the places of attraction here. Tanjore is primarily a place for the art lovers, especially for those who love temple architecture and wonder about kings who erected these magnificent monuments. During their reign, the Cholas made significant contribution to the various fields of art and architecture. The famous Thanjavur style of painting was developed by Serfoji, the 19th-century Maharaja of Thanjavur. This distinguished art of Thanjavur is a combination of raised and painted surfaces. Krishna is the deity depicted here keeping his complexion as white, rather than the traditional blue. The Brihadeeswara temple, the wonderful Palace, Art Gallery and the Saraswati Mahal Library are some of the other things to see in Tanjore.

Day 28 – To Pondicherry – 185 Kms – 4.5 Hrs drive
Morning drive to Pondicherry en route visiting Chidambaram. A visitor’s paradise, Chidambaram has something for everyone. The major attraction out here is the Nataraja Temple. For those interested in academics, a trip to renowned Annamalai University is a must. One can also visit Neyveli, one of the largest industrial complexes in the country. For the history buffs, there is an ancient fort at Gengi, which is a major attraction. The famous Car Street offers a good shopping experience. On arrival in Pondicherry check in at hotel.

Day 29 – In Pondicherry
Morning proceed to visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram, the final resting place of the founder of the Ashram, Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. Also visit Church Of The Sacred Heart Of Jesus is the place to visit for seeing stained glass windows, built in Gothic style. The Pondicherry Museum, the Church of Our Lady of the Angels on  Beach Rd. and the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception.

Morning proceed for sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. Mahabalipuram with its picturesque location on a rocky outcrop between the beach and a lagoon is a happy combination of history, good beaches, hassle-free tourism and fabulous fish and lobster! Despite the many visitors, drawn by the former Pallava dynasty town, the place is friendly, relaxed, and the villagers are remarkably unperturbed by their crowds of visitors. Mahabalipuram is renowned for its series of charming rathas and the spectacular carved relief depicting Arjuna’s Penance. The magnificent Shore Temple, built by king Rajasimha in the seventh century, is a unique temple that houses the shrines of both Shiva and Vishnu while the Varaha Cave is a rock-cut mandapam with two incarnations of Vishnu—Varaha and Vamana—besides scenes of kings and queens. The Krishna Mandapam has a bas-relief of Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan hill in his fingertips. Other important attractions of Mahabalipuram include the Mahishasuramardini Cave, Kotikal Mandapam, Ramanuja Mandapam, and the Dharmaraja Cave. Later visit Kanchipuram (64 kms from Chennai) ancient capital of the Pallavas famous as a city of 1000 temples that still has 124 shrines. The first temple dedicated to Lord Shiva was built in the 7th & 8th century and has paintings on the walls. Temples of Ekambaswara, Kailasanath, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are of interest. Kanchipuram is also famous for its Silks.

Day 33 – To Chennai – 65 Kms – 1.5 Hrs drive
Morning drive to Chennai. ON arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Chennai including. The St. George Fort, built in 1653, is currently used as the state government’s secretariat. Santhome Cathedral was built around 14th/15th century and is another colonial structure worth visiting. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Kapaleeshwar Temple is the oldest temple in Chennai. Another important temple in the city dedicated to Lord Krishna is Parthsarthy Temple., Marina Beach, the second longest beach in the world.
